You might want to decide what exactly you want to achieve with the tune. The first question for you to answer is “Do you tow?” If the answer is “yes”,  then you definitely want to tune your Isuzu D-Max ECU for power. The second question for you is “Would you want to “delete EGR” on your vehicle? If the answer is “yes” you would want to tell us that right when you call “Power tune & The EGR Delete”.

Now, let’s talk about EGR – Exhaust Gases Recirculation- this is the specific device on your vehicle’s engine (a valve really) which is designed to use (divert) exhaust gases back into the combustion chamber so that the temperature is lowered and less pollution is produced. Now, think about that your vehicle engine needs clean air to produce power and if it gets less air it produces less power. Not only power is important here, but your engine also gets clocked up with diesel sook. After a while, it gets so bad that you would want to ask your mechanic either to replace the EGR and even to take the manifold off to clean it. 

What do we do when we tune your Isuzu D-Max? 

In order for any diesel engine to produce power its needs two components a) Fuel and b) Air in comparison with a petrol engine tune which needs to have a third component – ignition timing. We do just that in the fuel maps of your Isuzu D-Max ECU – we give the engine more fuel and air. 

If you decide to “delete EGR” on your Isuzu D-Max. Your vehicle ECU has specific maps of when to operate EGR and if we lift parameters – the EGR valve on your car won’t operate. 

If you for instance have already upgraded your Isuzu D-Max exhaust system and it no longer has DPF – we can tune it off for you so that your Isuzu D-Max ECU won’t produce error DPF codes.
